"Unlimited" Categories?

Happy New Year to All!

Now back to the topic. Can one have a gazillion categories with this template. And, when each category is clicked by the visitor, it shows not a list of the links but like in the news templates, the title and a brief intro of a number of articles?

Just Joomla articles. I do not use K2 at the moment.
