Dates On Events

Hi,

On the home page of the demo data it shows the latest events with a box showing the date.
When we click on the event the date shown on the event is different from that on the home page.
Can you tell us where does it pick the date up from for these boxes.
Also, when we tried to end a date and time for the event (ie 06:00 pm - 08:00 pm we seem to lose the first part of the start time.

Any help would really be appreciated.
