Yes Oscar, I did not fully understand the implications of NOT using K2. I simply chose the template and decided to subscribe to the higher priced option to ensure developers are adequately funded and supported.
What I now find difficult to understand and cannot simply re-create is that when installing the plain University template (without the quickstart and rets_files) that I do not have the same looking front page areas look and feel, of course without the demo images. The 'Minimum Requirements' does not seem to reflect the K2 requirement to get the sale look and feel. Indeed, I originally did not scroll down like you have ultimately indicated that there is some K2 reference if one scrolls down further. I simply liked what I saw on the
https://www.gavick.com/joomla-templates/university,165 page, read the minimum requirements, took a look at the Demo and decided to purchase. Here is a link to the screen capture of what I saw on my monitor without scrolling down on which I based my excited decision to purchase -
http://www.screencast.com/t/tNWCUFzh0cMy mission is for the University template to at least have the home page look and feel sections, and then insert my own images and relevant modules/ text. Knowing that I have my own events component and relevant modules, I was not trying to re-create the events stuff in that exists in your demo. That is the very least I was expecting when I purchased the template. Could you please be so kind and advise on whether this is easily done from a novice perspective. Ultimately I would like to also do the same for the Events template. I guess what I was looking for was to be provided a module location template that defines all the same areas as in the demo hopefully with blank content samples respectively coloured backgrounds like in the demo version so that I can insert and create my own content
Thank you so very much for your patience and understanding and I am looking forward to you providing a practical solution.
Take care,
Rick
