Problems with quick start

Hello,
I need help with installing the University theme that we just bought.
The folder joomla quickstart doesn’t seem to work.
I am using xampp 1.8.0 which works with php 5.4.4, I have created the data base, I have put the quick start folder in htdocs.
I go to localhost/englishlife and the joomla installation starts normally.
It lets me do the first and second steps of the configuration, but when I click the install button on step 3 the installation bar advances but stops in the middle and doesn’t move any more.
I have tried with xampp 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.8.2 which are the ones that normally work with joomla 3.15.
What am I doing wrong? Why can’t I install joomla quick start?

I am having a similar problem with all the quickstarts that I've tried to install. I've tried installing several on a localhost running several different versions of Xammp, none have been successful, they always hang on the finalization step. I have read the documentation relating to quickstart problems and undertook every step of the advice given and still no joy. I even tried the manual install and it still didn't work. Ironically, the template only installs without issue... any ideas?

On an added note: I have my own basic set up & quick start of compiled purchased modules (utilizing Akeeba) that I normally use and it unpacks or uploads and works fine. I've also tried the same Gavick quick start set up procedures on 3 different machines using Xammp versions from 1.8.3 onwards and several configurations within the PCs; Phpmyadmin (php.ini and config.php).
I've been working on this for a week now and still haven't found a resolution. I'm actually finding it quicker to install the basic template and configure it from scratch... which kind of defeats the issue of having a quick start so any light you could throw on this would be really helpful.

I always used JAMP for localhost and no problems.
also I have lucky hand for hosting services ... so it's all based on server settings.

I'm still encountering the same problem with every quick start package I attempt to install. I followed the online documentation to the letter and have yet to finish a full Quick start install. The ALWAYS fail at the same point of finalization.
This would indicate that the issue is on the server side but I'm not sure how this could be the case, as it only happens with Gavick quick start packages. Joomla and Akeeba back ups work perfectly.
Any suggestions?

Use localhost server or other hosting to install then create backup (Akeeba) -> Recover on your server.
In general we cannot fix your sever issues.
