Home page simply disappears: why??

Hi,

I feel stumped. Just spent two hours looking for the reason why the home-page in my site loses the menu bar and lots of styling.
I cannot find the location where it tells me why this happens, and I really would like to find out why this is the case.
All menu items are quite functional. But when I classify an item as the home-page item it totally changes.
I find snippets of discussions, but nowhere a simple text that explains why this is okay, how it works, and how I can change it back to normal joomla behaviour.
What am I missing?

I can see Your site, but homepage looks like any other page. Maybe it was a cache issue. Can You provide a screenshot with how it looks like for You?

I just read Your other message. That's ok. I'm sorry I dis not get in time to it. My guess is that problem was with lack of a page class suffix "frontpage", so You can try it.
