On your demo of University i cant change the classic menu to aside menu.

In template settings the firtst thing i see is Show template menu yes/no.

In other templates, like Cloudhost, the first item is Menu Type (classic/aside).

How can i fix this?

thanks

On our demo should be only aside menu and no classic one (if by classic you mean native mobile select). The template has only aside mobile menu build in.

Well how could i have disabled the aside menu if there is no option for it in the template settings?

Either you mane things differently or you have checked something wrong. You have aside menu currently on your site.

When you make windows smaller - you will see icon named "hamburger" - when you click on it either select appears (classic mobile menu) or the entire site slides to the side showing menu (aside menu) - and it is the only mobile menu implemented in this template afaik.

]Yes that i understand, but in the template settings i cannot choose the hamburger menu by default for a normal computer.

I thought your demo had the hamburger icon by default: http://demo.gavick.com/joomla25/university/
But now i see its the same. Strange.

With the "classic menu" i meant this

So there is no option to toggle between the hamburger menu and classic menu in the template settings?

In template settings no, but you can tweak css and decide to show only one of them entire time.
You only need to know that using desktop menu (one from screen above) on small screen devices will cause you a lot of troubles (it will not render well as it requires a lot of space).
