Installation fails

I cannot get past the first step on the installation - it doesn't really even hang. It almost immediately stops processing to the database information.

I am running PHP V 5.3.13
MySQL V 5.5.21
I have added php_flag display_errors off to my .htaccess page
mbstring is enabled

Trying to trick the site with a config file works (with the obvious fail of no database data being added.) So I don't think it's my server configuration. But hey - ?? - you just never know.

I am on iPage. Not sure if anyone else is having these same issues.

I can install the latest joomla version (but would really rather the quickstart install as it has the sample modules already compiled.)

I fixed the issue by moving the hosting of my site. I am pretty sure iPage isn't the best place for Joomla sites.
