calendar events bar

Hi, can anyone handle the progress bar for events?
I mean, it appears to be no relation to publishing date or whatever you code in tag <time datetime="10-07-2016" class="gkEventDateStart">10 July 2014</time> - <time datetime="16-07-2016" class="gkEventDateEnd">16 July 2014</time>.

It'd be so useful, but I cannot figure out how managing that, as I've tried everything...
