Can;t install the template.

So...i have tried to install both versions of university (3.3 and 2.5) and no luck. tried it like a hundred times. The J3.3 version quickpackage shows a blank page (after searching the forum i found out it has to do something with server configuration - php 5.3.28 should have done the trick but it doesn't). I tried the template install, and the rest files but the menu has a problem. I see a big "HOME" over the logo and even if i create another menu module it doesn't show it. So i gave up on 3.3 and went to 2.5. The quickpackage get's stuck on configuration(step 6). I managed to install 2.5 on my computer with xampp and the transfered the site to the server. No i get the error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function loadMenu() on a non-object in /home/ltadjude/public_html/templates/gk_university/layouts/default.php on line 88. (On xampp it worked fine). Can i get some help pls...i'm lost at this point.

our templates and quickstart works on most hosting services,
but you can not blame us for your server configuration.
You have to ask you hosting support what is going on.

p.s.
If you can install blank Joomla 3.3+ or Joomla 2.5 you should also could install template and all modules after.

Have you got any errors during installation of QuickStart (red marks) on server settings section ?

No reds, only greens. I have installed the basic template on J3.3. The problem is with the menu...any ideas why it's not working and instead i get the big home on top. If i could get the menu working i can use the rest files to finish the site....

I see "home" menu item , but it color is hidden. only after hover I see red.
So please set menu as it was in QS
