Google Calendar integration

I do apologize if this has been asked before...I didn't see it anywhere. I'd like to integrate this theme with Google Calendar. I know there are some extensions that will do some of this, but the integration into the template theme is what I'm looking to do. Anyone have any quick ideas on how to do that...otherwise time to put on my TRUE developer's hat.
