Backend: Problem with the menu assignment listing

Hello!
We have a problem with the structure of the menu assignment listing in all modules. It seems to be an error in the html code of a file (wrong placed ul-endtag) - but we don't know which file it could be. How this error comes into our system? May be our fault or an error by an update.
It would be very nice if you can help us.
Storefront 1.8

Hi

It doesn't looks to be template related since we do not add any code in this place, but please send me an access to joomla panel and a link to where this problem can be seen. I'll check it.

Hi

I can see the problem, but it's some joomla bug not connected with our products. Please contact joomla support to fix that. I have only one tip here. Since the lacking html tag appear in Hikashop Menu than I would suggest to delete it entirely and recreate if You are planing to use Hikashop, if not than deleting it will not cause any problems.

No response from Joomla till now. But I've checked this error on my test System and I've recognized that this problem occurs after updating the virtuemart to version 3.012 with the update manager.
Did you try this within your template?

Hi

I just checked again and yes VM was updated in my copy. I overwritten VM installation to be 100% sure, but still menu attachment is showing fine for me. But during the re installation I saw that VM was updating lots of records in database, so it could be a cause of this problem. Try maybe login to Your joomla panel and go to this url /administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=database . Hit FIX if it's available, than if this will not help try reinstall VM maybe.

Hi

VM should not overwrite the content of database during re-installation, but just to be sure make a copy of the site first and than try it on Your copy first. I always do that when I need to try some things first time and I'm not sure what result it may give.

Hey,
I've re-install VM on my test System on top of the installed VM, but nothing changed. Then I restore my DB and everything is ok. So the Problem seems to be in the changes made by the VM-installation/-update to the DB not to the directories and files.
I don't know what to do because I cannot restore a backup on my hot system. Yes, it was my fault do not testing the updates on the test machine - but really? With the ugly Hathor-Template there is no problem, only with the ISIS.
Let us close this topic and I will going to annoy the guys from joomla forum.

Thanks to you and regards

Hi

Most likely a content of one of the cells in database was breaking it. Since it was affecting menu I would say menu table was the one with this problem. Maybe using old (broken) installation and editing each menu item, than saving it again would help. There are still some menu items You cannot access (joomla backend menu), so it may not work but it's worth trying. Best option would be to check menu table row by row looking for the some unclosed HTML tags.

Hi
It must be a backend table but I am really not able to find it. In the joomla forum there is no answer. Shame on them.

Hi

Actually menus You can see in backend are held in the same table in database as menus from frontend. If You have an access to some database manager than I can take a look at it. Please send me this details via PM if You can.

Hi

I'm sorry, but I cannot find anything here. Mostly because I do not know the language and can't see some options.

I'm afraid You will have to contact joomla support to resolve that. But first remove all menu options You are not need. Clear trash after that. Hopefully broken record will be in one of those items.
