Is Storefront compatible with Virtuemart 3?

When do you plan to update store front to be compatible with Virtuemart 3 ?

Maybe you plan to make new theme with virtumart 3 in mind ?

I have this same hope as you have... thats why I will ask tomorrow at the morning when developer will be online again.

Did you talked to developer ? What are the plans ? Hope they have something for X-MAS

I think people really needs some quality e-comerce template with some fresh design and functions. All current templates are very similar to each other, only few design differences.

Probably around half December first updates should be ready, but when exactly ...hard to say, many things can happen in the meantime.

A quickstart template based on J3.3 and VM3 would be great.
The one you currently offer seems to be a mixture between hikashop (products) and virtuemart (menu links).

I am also waiting for a VM 3 template.
Currently I am using Bikestore. But there are no plans to update that template, because it's too old....

Bikestore, yes, it might be too late. Or you have to wait a few weeks more than others.
But you can use default VM 3.x theme which is quite nice, just remove our VM override from template folder.

But I like to have the theme of Gavick ofcourse not the default VM.
Are there plans, say within 1 or 2 months, for another ecommerce template? If not, I will go for Storefront, where i'll change the template here and there with some bikestore elements.

I talked with main GK developer today about VM 3. We have plans about this update, but it will be a process should be finished till end middle of January 2015. So you have to wait at least 2-3 weeks.

Do you know if 'StoreBox' will get a VM3 update? I have struggled with custom field issues and really look forward to the overhaul that VM3 supposedly brings, not to mention being able to run the store on Joomla 3 and not 2.5.x

Yes, it should get.
Right now if you're using VM 3.x you have to remove GK overrides for VM and use default style from VM3.

If you're using additional plugins not apart of VM or Joomla itself you have to ask creator of this plugin for help, not us.

I have successfully tested some simple custom fields like sizes or colors, but failed to make a simple custom field using plugins taken from a turotial page. So, I figured that the problem might not be caused by the plugin itself, but something to do with my settings, perhaps related to templates.

I do have a real problem to make a plugin for downloadbles work which use a custom field, and will ask the support team of the plugin, but I may end up again asking here if the problem is related to the template I use.

Anyhow, I'll do a bit more work and organize the issue, and, if I need a help from here again, I will create a new topic about it.

There is always one tip:

Set something (it can be custom fields or what ever) and check this page view on Gavick template and then on protostar or beez3 template. It will allows you guess where is problem : in your knowledge or in template.
