Hi,

I am new to Gavic and this forum, but I really like what you guys are creating! As I purchased subscription yesterday and forgot to use the Halloween cupon, I hope for some help in this issue; Storefront Quickstart package (3.x) halted on createing tables in my localhost. I'm running XAMPP on windows 8.

- Other installs are ok, also from you; installed University quickstart 3.x without problems. Same settings.
- Basic Joomla installs ok
- Also have Yootheme subscr., the sites installs ok.
- Tried installing several times, Storefront install halted at create tables every time.

This is the same problem as I have:

I haven't tested other templates yet, look forward to do it. Kindly await your reply. Thank you very much!

Ouch :S :S Same problem with the inStyle template... Install cannot complete the table creation; looks like in this image http://www.optimumtheme.com/cache/com_zoo/images/installation_installing_a5883e7642b38535ffc5a07e34477f1d.jpg

Is there some special requirements for setting up the gavic quickstart packages?

Please help.

I use root as user with all rights. No password. Do I need to create a specific user for Gavic demo site, with password? Do you need a specific locale? Can I see a specific error message anywhere?

Am I the only one with this issue? My localhost/XAMPP setup is basic, no special settings.

Guys, you didn't help me, but I will, in case any other frustrated sould risk loosing hours of failed install.

Here's how;
Well. I didn't really solve it. I did a manual install.

- I opened the text in the ../mysite/installation/sql/mysql/joomla.sql file in Notepad ++ and replaced #_ with table prefix. Forget the other sql files, this one contains the gavic demo-data. I got a strange error message that I could not find a table I tried to create. I googled it and ended up deleting the db and starting over with a new one. All was installed! The first time the _modules and _assets tables were missing.
- I renamed and copied the config file to root (from installation/configuration.php-dist) and entered the db info.
- Then I added a superuser to the users table (just copied values from an existing super user in other db) ....and....
Vioila! It worked. (See more detail here: http://www.optimumtheme.com/blog/troubl ... -step.html)

Not quite out of the box, Gavicpro.

So...how do I mark this post solved? No such function?

No replies, no comments, no solved function. A kind of strange forum.

HI

First of all. Please do not bump Your own thread it resets the time and moves to the end of the line for answer and You have to wait longer.

Please take a look into this article with all known issues during installation: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... -fix-them/

I bet it's an error showing option not being disabled.

Ok, thanks for the advice!

Great article, thank you very much. Working on testing K2 as a directory now and enjoying getting to know your templates. Really nice work. Thanks!
