I have set columns to 3 in a new category i created but only one column shows ?

Yes this option is locked to match design. Please show me the page You want to have 3 columns.

I had the same problem I stumbled upon this in one of the Hikashop forums and although it does not make sense to me it has sorted out the problem .
Solution : Configuration>Display>Use Bootstrap Design-NO

This has sorted my problem now I can see my 3 columns

Yes bootstrap was the solution we used to make it one column layout as wanted for design, anyway I had not idea there will be no need for extra codding after disabling it. Thank You for this information.
