News Show Pro Quick Start breaks site

So my original solution to this problem was to just turn off this portion of the site but I actually like how it works so I want it to function, but here is my issue. I installed the 3.x version of this template and when I enable the module


Check[br]out my[br]hot[icon-flame][br]works

It essentially shows nothing but the headings for the categories. I believe that the moderator previously mentioned that if this isn't configured correctly that this can occur. How do I configure it to show what is essentially on the example site? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer me.
