Hello,

I think I had too much coffee and made one of the pages on a sub menu the 'default page' by accident. Opps.

Now when I open the site, the homepage is now set to that page that is set as default. I can't turn the star (default page off) without the error message requiring a page to be default.
But, there are no default page options available on the main menu which uses the link #gkHeader (external URL)

Any suggestions please?

Kind regards
Drew

You can't unselect element which is marked with start but you just need to click on some other element start to make this active. This will automatically remove start from current home element.

hello,
Thanks for the feedback.
If I mark another page default, the default home page becomes that page, agreed.

The problem is that I want the 'home screen' to revert back to #gkHeader, but there is no 'make default page option available (see screen capture.

on the home page that I can see.

What do you suggest please?

External URL can't be home for your website and it is default Joomla! settings, we couldn't change this.

Thanks for the reply.

Can you tell me how you did it initially then in the John template demo please?
I have read the article on OnePage layout Menu links and still cant see how you did it.
I am trying to get the front page back to the original from the quickstart package (a single front page divided into modules positions eg: gkHeader)

kind regards

Hello,

I think I have gotten to the bottom of this and nodoubt other people might find this useful.

1. The single front page has its own 'main menu'.
2. The items displaying on the front page are assigned in each module parameters to the 'Main Menu subMenu' (not the main)

Once you understand this, life becomes easier and you get all your modules assigned to the submain menu displaying on the front page (under the main menu) ;)

Enjoy your day.

Main menu configuration looks like on this image screenshot And this menu don't have element marked with 'star' because the star element is available in Subpages menu.
