Hello,

I have just become a member of the gavick family because i really liked the John theme. I am very professional with Joomla but adapting an new template framework allways takes some time. But i am quite stuck with your framework idea of configuration files and how they supposed to work (i think it does not save my configurations).

I have installed a blank J3.3 together with blank John template. Now i am trying to recreate the template by following it's config tutorial: http://www.gavick.com/documentation/joo ... iguration/

Use of Configuration file
I am loading the default_config.json file and then change some parameters (like Template color / Template background), then i save it again (Joomla 'save') OR i save the config file under a different filename. I assign the style to the menu item and save again.
Now i see the parameters are different in the backend but when loading the frontend nothing (mean no color/background) changes. If i set the Joomla website offline there is the default login page; this page DOES change color whenever i select another color in the backend. So, am i missing something or does the website not load the changes?

Modules/Header 100% width
I have (as explained in docu link) added a custom html module into the header position. Added the default info etc. etc. But it does not display at 100% according the demo example page.

Can somebody guide me in the right direction what i am doing wrong here?

Hi

Sorry for delay. I'm having some health problems and came down with flu twice in last 7 days ;/

I've checked the header problem and it was not correct because of a lack of page class suffix for this page. It was attached to an id 640 while frontpage has acctually id 101 in Your case.

I can see the problem with configuration files. Looks like it's not working properly, unfortunatelly to investigate this further I will need an access to ftp. I've already checked on my copy and it works. I think it may be server related (not sufficient php version or something like that).

Hi,

It must be right. Did you notice our different FTP port?
We have no IP restrictions on FTP level here as far as i know.
chmod config folder to 755 will not help, it's our default value and i tried 777 already :-)

Hi

Yes it was a port issue, my mistake, sorry.

I've checked and configuration works fine. I think problem is that saving and loading the settings from config file has to be used from the options next to the names (check screen). When You will load a file configuration still has to be saved with the green button on top. Please check, an ftp confirms that files are created and correct settings are inside.
