My works - thumbnails

I have set the quality of the thumbnails at the News Show Pro Gk5 to be 100%.

However, still the images are a little blur.

I would like to make my own thumbs and use them. I would like to change the code in order not to refresh the thumbs. What do I need to change at the code in order to achieve that?

All thumbnails are stored in a module cache/ catalog. Additionally, if a given article does not have images, default images defaultMOD_ID.png from default/ catalog can be loaded, where MOD_ID is an ID of our module, e.g. newsprol.

I am aware where the thumbnails are. I was thinking to create my own thumbnails and replace them. That is why I am asking how to disable the cache feature. I don't want in an x amount of time the module to create its own thumbnails and overwrite mine.

Looks like all images are sharp on frontpage, but please check the module settings. In additional K2 settings tab You will find an image to use for thumbnail. Make sure to use for example "Large" version, becuase the one which is set there right now may be smaller and module is overersizeing it.

Other option is to simply replace the images in module cache and set a maximal cache time. Images are stored and named like: http://depika.biz/modules/mod_news_pro_ ... sp-715.jpg

I have set the k2 image source to be L.

I don't think the images are too sharp...

The cache time is in seconds.......My thumbs will be overwritten eventually.

Ok. Than disable creating a thumbnail in module settings so an orginal image will be used.

Hello, I use the News Show Pro Gk5 with the John S. Template.

Most of my thumbnails don't refresh when I add a picture to the Item used for the News Show Pro Gk5 module. I upload the picture in the K2 Item Image tab and I also put the picture within the article, using the same default frames used for the template quickstart.

I also clear my browser cache and joomla's...

The result it show is that the old image are still shown for the K2 item that have a new image. It's like a cache thing. GK cache is disabled.

This issue was ressolved by itself.

NSP has a cache on it's own. Useful when articles are being created, but replacing images doesn't work well here, since script cannot recognize if it's a different image or not if it has same size. In such cases I advice to clear /cache folder in NSP module folder manually.

I just uploaded images for the first time on the item displayed on the NSP module.

The image are fairly good, but the thumbs created are very blurry, up until getting in the K2 item. Why is it so? Do I need to upload the images of a certain dimensions, or setup something on the backend?

I've noticed that if the picture is put at the beginning of the K2 item not using the tab for "images" the thumbnail quality is good. It must have something to do with K2 thumbnail options then that NSP is retrieving.

Please take a look into NSP configuration about K2. There You will see which image should be used for thumbnail. It says generic as default. Try change it to Large, than delete all images from /modules/mod_news_pro_gk5/cache to allow recreation of images.
