Please follow this steps:
0) Install new current version of NSP GK5 (re-install)
1) Open module in edit mode
2) Click Refresh button in your browser
3) Change data source to another from list
4) Change order of showing items
5) Save changes - check on front page
6) If okey, change data source back to option which you have at the beginning

Its basically wrongly cached javascript file which is causing those problems.
Doing it by the list forces the browser and joomla to reload and use correct files.

FYI: in simplicity quick install files (j3x): none of the above helps - the module doesn't accepts parameters (such select cat/articles, etc.) - i tried to reload .json but this doesn't work either (function doesn't respond) - interestingly, the module bk-end looks odd (all the portal modes are separated, not like the newest version, nicely organized); I have reinstalled it without change. Not tried but guessing that removing the entire module and installing again could (?) help. I've noticed that this template was just updated to 3 - perhaps you guys can look and also update the quick install files at some point
