Hi

After the update to joomla 3.4 the News Show Pro GK5 causing error 1064

"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'DESC LIMIT 0,3' at line 21 SQL=SELECT content.id AS id FROM oicl6_k2_items AS content WHERE content.published = 1 AND content.trash = 0 AND content.access IN (1,1) AND ( content.publish_up = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR content.publish_up <= '2015-02-26 13:41:08' ) AND ( content.publish_down = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR content.publish_down >= '2015-02-26 13:41:08' ) AND content.language in ('el-GR','*') ORDER BY content. DESC LIMIT 0,3; "

In more details I have in News2 template ... When I disable the module the error disappears

Many Thanks / Vagelis

Hello,

Please upgrade the module to the v.1.8.0.6 version, refresh your browser cache and then please go to the module settings.

In the data source tab please check if the ordering field is set properly. Please also check the data source - if it is set to the K2 articles, please make sure that field below contains K2 article IDs separated by comma.

Then please resave the module settings.

I'm having the same issue. I have followed your instructions on these threads, but still the same error.

The following is the error I get:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ASC LIMIT 2,200' at line 21 SQL=SELECT content.id AS id FROM pug3k_k2_items AS content WHERE content.published = 1 AND content.trash = 0 AND content.access IN (1,1,2,3) AND ( content.publish_up = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR content.publish_up <= '2015-02-26 18:52:46' ) AND ( content.publish_down = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR content.publish_down >= '2015-02-26 18:52:46' ) AND ( content.catid = 52 ) ORDER BY content. ASC LIMIT 2,200;
1064

Not sure what to do. Please help!

Yah, having the same issue.
Installed the updated NSP GK5. 1.8.0.6

YOU HAVE AN ERROR IN YOUR SQL SYNTAX; CHECK THE MANUAL THAT CORRESPONDS TO YOUR MYSQL SERVER VERSION FOR THE RIGHT SYNTAX TO USE NEAR 'DESC LIMIT 0,1' AT LINE 21 SQL=SELECT CONTENT.ID AS ID FROM QUW08_K2_ITEMS AS CONTENT WHERE CONTENT.PUBLISHED = 1 AND CONTENT.TRASH = 0 AND CONTENT.ACCESS IN (1,1) AND ( CONTENT.PUBLISH_UP = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR CONTENT.PUBLISH_UP <= '2015-02-26 19:35:45' ) AND ( CONTENT.PUBLISH_DOWN = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR CONTENT.PUBLISH_DOWN >= '2015-02-26 19:35:45' ) AND ( CONTENT.CATID = 42 ) AND CONTENT.CREATED >= '2015-02-24 00:00:00' ORDER BY CONTENT. DESC LIMIT 0,1;

Please open the back-end in a different browser - if you updated the module to the v.1.8.0.6 it must be a browser cache issue

Tried all off the suggestions using Firefox, Safari, IE and Chrome (my default). Nothing helped.

Here's my situation:
- started off with News2 quick start
- everything OK
- updated Joomla to 3.4 and also updated NSP GK5
- Made an Akeeba back-up
- worked sometime, but at a certain point the error occured, probably after un-installing some K2 add-on or image resize stuff

Restarted from scratch, different root directory and database
- restored the Akeeba backup
- everything fine
- restored style and css overrrides
- removed some unused NSP and other modules, un-installed some extensions (different from the first take and including some templates (including some Gavick one's))
- at a certain point the error occured again.

Doesn't sound like a browser cache problem only. I'm not using the Joomla nor GK Cache and have cleared the "backend cache" in extension management.

The error:
- on the front-end: like mentioned by the others, allthough with some variation probably depending on the setting of the news order (I use random and newest)
- the backend: errors in the display of/mis-aligned input fields (e.g. module mode dropdown shows at the top of the page), all options for all data sources are visible, news order drop down is empty or items are invisible/blank (but selectable).

The site has to go live on next Wednesday.

Site info has been PM-ed

Could you please check and advice.

Sorry, sorry,

problem solved. I was had upgraded to version 1.8.0.5 and not 1.8.0.6, which indeed solves the problem. :blink: :) :)

Regards,

Hans.

@aschultinga

Many Thanks. I've got a solution in my Templatforum (Game). Have tried everything to a test server and it worked.

1. Please download the latest version - then

0) Install new current version of NSP GK5 (re-install)
1) Open module in edit mode
2) Click Refresh button in your browser
3) Change data source to another from list
4) Change order of showing items
5) Save changes - check on front page
6) If okey, change data source back to option which you have at the beginning

:idea: :P

@seladon54 and dziudek This worked for me also. The refresh while you are in the module was the thing that kept me from solving the problem earlier.

Thanks
