Template: Writer v. 3.13
Joomla version 3.3.6

Hi,
I can't manage to make text show when placing the News Show Pro Gk5 module in the sidebar at the frontpage. The module is set to show fice specific K2items.
The image and the title shows, but can't make the text (from the articles) appear too.

Module mode in NSPGK5 is set to standard (Writer template). And believe I have tried to change all meaningful settings in the modules backend.

In the module --> 'Article layout' --> 'Text' text are enabled and should thereby show on the page?

Any ideas how I can make the module show both the K2 image and text?

Best and thanks,
/ Kristian

Could you please provide me with a URL to your website and back-end access via PM (click the “Private Message” text underneath my avatar) so that I may analyze it? It is a lot easier for us to diagnose issues when we have a live site to examine.

Hi

Ok. This is odd. Everything is configured properly. Please send me an access to FTP. I need to check where the text is seen for the last time.

Hi

Actually it was not as odd as I thought :) There were a wrong K2 text type selected. The hard part here was how to call the text element. K2 has 2 types: introtext and fulltext. Basically everything before <read more> line in content is called introtext and text below this line is fulltext, but there are exceptions for case where there is no <read more> line at all. In such case al text is called fulltext, but is stored in introtext table at database.

Hi Teitbite,

Thank you so much locating the issue! Funny though, as I am quite sure I have tried setting both K2 text types - but it seems I might be wrong :)

A final qeustion: The main module on the frontpage (modulename: 'Forsidebillede' with ID 842) remains the final mystery as it seems impossible to disable/remove the clickable 'ReadMore' function on all of the slides (K2items) shown on in the module. Furthermore I need to remove the link from the title in order to avoid visitors beeing able to click and see the article.

The purpose of the mentioned frontpage News Show Pro GK5 module is solely to show different pictures that is added a title and text - it must not be possible for the visitors to click on any link in relation to this frontpage module.

I have tried to set 'Show readmore' to off in the 'Frontpage Image overlay - Portal mode Settings', but that not only removed the ReadMore function but also the title and the text..

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Hi

I cannot see a Read More on this module anywhere. Have You removed it already or am I missing something?

Hi again,

Thank you for your help so far.

I now only have one - properly minor - issue with the site.

Right now all item (K2) titles link to the respective articles. As I use the News Show Pro GK5 module on the frontpage, as a sort of random slider-module = different articles show in the module each time the site reloads, I do not want the visitors to be able to click on any of the titles.

How can I remove the possibility to click on the titles?

The site is located here: ejskjaer-fotografi.dk.

Thanks in advance.

Best
/ Kristian

Hi

Maybe adding a layer covering whole module and making it not accessible will help. Add this to /layout/blocks/head.php

Code: Select all
<script type="text/javascript">(function($) {$(document).ready(function() {
$('#nsp-nsp-843').append('<div style="position: absolute; height: 100%; weight: 100%; top: 0; left: 0; z-index: 10;"></div>');
});})(jQuery)</script>
