How can a user be redirected to the restricted page they want to see?
I'm using the standard joomla unauthorized links option

Once a user tries to access unauthorized content it prompts you to login or register. Once you login it then routes you to the user profile page as opposed to back to the album you want to see. I want them to be able to land on the previous page that was restricted before logging in.

So if they want to see Gallery#1 it directs them to the log in page and after logging in it sends them to user profile page instead of back to Gallery #1

How can I do this?

This is strictly Joomla core question and I suppose it can be done without any 3rd party extension. Please ask this question on Joomla support forum, as there you might find people who might know how to do that.
