Possible top menu setup?

Hi there, I am just wondering if its possible to put a top menu on the News2 theme a bit like the top menu you see here for example: http://www.independent.ie/ Basically its a menu that sits right above the logo at the top of the site, or is it better to use a plugin of some sorts to achieve this? Any advice on this would be great as I love the theme but I see the menus are a little limited here at the top of the site. Thanks in advance

Generally it's possible to move the top menu under the updated and highlights section, but it requires a lot of modifications (css and html), so I think it will be easier to try with some plugins.

If you decide to try with theme files modifications, please let me know, i'll give you some tips (where you should start).
