On my website Google is indexing pages that are not articles or categories. Just an example:
www.casino-online.bz/component/content/featured?id=featured
Even if robots.txt is set to avoid indexing for /component directory then Google ignore it. Having these kind of pages hurt the ranking on google for any website, because Google hates websites that create pages with poor content.

Is there a way to delete or set these pages as 404 not found?

Hi

This is very weird. I've never seen a website creating pages on it's own. do You have some kind of links manager ? For example using sef404 You can set this pages to show any other content, but You may also try regular joomla redirection component.

Hi Teitbite,
Redirection is not the solution to this problem. Google sometimes ignore a 301 redirect and canonical tag too. Just like Google do for the robots.txt file.
There are only two safe solutions:
1) write noindex, nofollow inside <header> for those pages. But are you able to edit those pages?
2) delete the page or get a 404 when you visit that url. We could edit .htaccess for that, but I find it very dangerous actinig on .htaccess. Do you know "something" that can convert a bad Joomla page in a 404?

Hi

I can think only about sh404sef component which can do that.
But I do not think robots ignores robots.txt file. This may caused them to loop in some occasions.
