How do I make the home page a single k2 article?

So I am really struggling with this. I want the home page to be a single K2 article.

I have disabled the New Pro component and I have removed everything from the home page, my issue is that I cannot make the home page a single K2 article.

p.s. I know this template is complete overkill for what I am trying to do.

Also, I have tried all the obvious stuff such as selecting the Home page from the menu and changing the menu type, that didnt work, I tried single Joomla native article, that didnt work. I tried categories, that didnt work.

Also, where the heck are these articles that are displaying now coming from?
