Problem to show category in list or blog

Hello,

I´ve some Trouble with showing categorys in list or blog in joomla 3 in template gk_game.
The Frontend Shows "Notice: Undefined property: ContentViewCategory::$maxLevelcat in C:\xampp\htdocs\ESV-LOK\templates\gk_game\html\com_content\category\blog_children.php on line 30". Or for List "Notice: Undefined property: ContentViewCategory::$maxLevelcat in C:\xampp\htdocs\ESV-LOK\templates\gk_game\html\com_content\category\default_children.php on line 28.
In Joomla 2.5 I can´t generate this issue. So I´ve opened both files. And found a different function on php script. So I´ve copied the one into the other, and the error was gone. But my question is, is now my Problem solved? Why you have different functions?

I'm not sure if I understand, but best is to compare the code You've used but try renaming /html/com_content to /html/_com_content so our override will not be used and You will see how it was made for joomla orginally.

I've compared the function of your template file, with the function of joomla. It's the same, so I will use this one.
