Hi, after adding an image to an article we tried multiple times to remove the float effect, its set on the Image float: none - however the article images are still floating. I used drop down options from the image float = None .

You mean the main image on this website? If yes it has attribute to float: none but all images are 100% wide so there is no difference what kind of float type you use - image will be always display the same until it will the 100% of container width.
