Hi. I've just installed Music State for J3.0 using the quick start package.

I am getting the following message after an apparent successful installation:
"Notice: Use of undefined constant DS - assumed 'DS' in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/.../plugins/system/plg_gkextmenu/plg_gkextmenu.php on line 44"

I have installed other J3.0 templates with no other problem.

I am running this on XAMPP (1.8.3, the latest version for Mac OS X)

Please can you advise what is causing this issue and how to fix it?

You need to know that Notice is not Error message and if you need more details about notice messages you should check the PHP documentation. Your server is also not configure according to Joomla requirements because option to display_errors should be set to off.

Do you quickstart package or regular template installation?

Hi bkrztuk. Thanks for coming back to me on this and for clarifying whast this Notice means.

I used the quickstart package (and tried reinstalling 3 times to make sure it wasn't a bogus install).

At same time I tried two other Gavick templates (M Social and Events) and neither had a problem so I assumed the server environment wasn't the problem?

Thnx

bkrztuk, I found this article useful to understand this issue further:
https://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/ ... -problems/

I also changed the settings under global configuration to fix this. You were correct it was not an error with the template. I entitled my post "Template Error?" because I wasn't sure either way.

Ok, thanks for sharing your solution. You should see that this server setting is incorrect during Joomla installation - we strongly recommend always to fix all this problems before installation.

No problem bkrztuk - it's good to understand the problem, thanks to your education.
I have another display issue potentially I think. I find I can't get the spacing to work properly within the grid modules.
Please see attachment showing the Featured Artists grid. Do you think this is due to CSS styling code or because of incorrect display settings on my server?

Thankx

Sorry but without seeing a live site I'm unable to find out how the grid module is configured. Could you give me your site URL?
