Hi,

I'm not using Jomsocial at all but is there a way to create a photo overlay with the name inside anyway?

Like the ones in bottom1 position in Demo home page? I used the code you provided in typography but I would like to substitute the link icon with each people's name.

This styles in the template are created only for JomSocial but you can check HTML structure and CSS via firebug and try to add custom styles to your code.
