Adding a site Search box into topbar

I would like to add a site search function to the left hand side of the topbar.

Tried adding the module to that position, tried a Module load in the HTML of the topbar, so far no luck.

Any thoughts?

by default you can use only those positions which are available.
If not, you have to manually add a new one
