Extension installed but can find in template manager

(mac, joomla 3.2) I have downloaded the zip file, and installed it at the extensions manager and got a green message saying it is installed, however it doesn't come up under extensions-manage, or in the templates manager when I go there to make it my default

Hmm of course you've installed clean template not quickstart or rest_files etc? Did you try to install any other extension? You can always re-download package, sometimes files may be broke due to download problem.
