YouTube Embed

Hello Team,

I've noticed in this template it's not possible to embed YouTube videos unless adding coding in "text" view to pages or posts. I cant add video when responding to a post (as a comment) or when using the extended profile widgets. I've tried HTML & shortcode. The only thing that works is to post the URL which then takes users out of my site. Do I need to change something somewhere or is this a limitation of the template?

Hi,
what version of Wordpress you're using ?
I saw that in 4.0 adding such a media is so easy.

Hello, yes I'm using 4.0. I have no trouble with embed if I am creating the post or page.. just responding is an issue (e.g. - user responding to a post with a video, user wants to embed URL to video in extended profile, etc.).

To anyone else w/this issue, solution:
Plugin - BuddyPress Activity Plus

I'm sure there's other methods but this was the quickest, easiest for what I'm trying to do.

BTW it's funny, but you had to use additional plugin which adds 3 new buttons to your BuddyPress activity stream. Enabling you to attach photos, videos, and even share web links. ...to doubling the default options :mrgreen:
