Hi there,

I just updated my wordpress and now I seem to be missing the Gavick Pro short code menu in the post-editing section?

How can I get it back? Also short-codes seem to be not working in general anymore… Althoug they would be activated
in the basic theme functions.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!!
Best, Sigrid

Hi,
I have info from our WP developer - if you are using new version of WP 2.9 - you have to update GK theme also. Download and install.

Changelog: https://www.gavick.com/updates.html?tas ... 28&catid=4

Hi Pawel,

thanks for the reply. I did update the theme as well to 1.1.5, but there is still the menu missing.

Also the update totally ruined the widgets (GK Title display, etc.) so I had to manually drag them back again with some not being saved at all. Is there a way to avoid this? I uploaded the theme via FTP and updated Wordpress through the Back-end. However, I would like to avoid doing that in the future…

I saw you link changelog to avoid these problems, you could replace only selected files.
WP 2.9 changed many so probably that's why.
That's why I'd prefer Joomla, there aren't such a problems after template update.

That could be…

However, how do I get my short codes back now? :D

Further shortcodes issues:

I also used shortcodes for a form, which was working perfectly fine before. Now it shows the code in the front end as well.
Is this due to wordpress or could this be linked to the general shortcode issue?

Code: Select all
[contact-form to='[email protected]' subject='events'][contact-field label='Name' type='name' required='1'/][contact-field label='Email' type='email' required='1'/][contact-field label='Comment' type='textarea' required='1'/][/contact-form]

Hello,

@Dirgis, could you send me a PM with backend and FTP access? Then I'll check it exactly.

Thank you! Much appreciated.

The Shortcode menu magically turned up again. Shortcodes per se are not working though :(

I hate to report that the menu is missing again. I did not change anything other than adding or editing content, which can't have cause this. Any ideas? Is this all due to the latest wordpress version?
