Add Subtitles to template on postpages

Hi there,

I found a plugin thats supposed to let you use and display subtitles on your post.

I added the function to the header.php file in the layouts folder. But I guess this is totally wrong to do with this template.
As it links to another hook file?

Sorry for my confusion, but how could I achieve this?
