Hi
I have added my code in "custom CSS code". Is there a danger, that changes will be lost during next Joomla upgrade?

During Joomla update - no. It should also not affect template update, but please backup those changes before updating (as a general rule of thumb - you should backup entire Joomla folder and database before updating anything)

Well, I prefer manual backup. You can either copy files via ftp to your local machine and backup database with phpmyadmin, or if you are advanced user and have a shell access - backup to a compressed right on your server.
