Why after installing quickstart and Jomsocial the template

The templates doesnt look like the demo? My "look who just joined" module does not have the little cross appear when I hover nor is it aligned in the same row. When I add a "latest photos" module to bottom 4 position where the demo was, it breaks the ordering and everything gets pushed underneath it. How do I manage to keep the same styling as the demo?

I figured out how to get the recently posted pictures to show up, but the status updates always says that the stream can't be found. The pics are in the link above.
