Hi there,
i want to try out the msocial template. i downloaded the big 25mb zip with the demo content and
uploaded it to my server (at strato as webhost)
when i call the page, the install page appers.
in step 1 and 2 i insert all the data.
then in step 3 (overview) i click on INSTALL and the demo content install process starts.
After a while, it jumps back to the step 3 page like it did not worked out.
I checked my sql via phpmyadmin and can see that the tables have been created.
But if i call the page, it gets me to the installation page with step 1 whereas all my previous entered
data still exists.

Am i doing anything wrong?
big greetings and thanks
carlos

Please post a screenshot of 3rd stage - "Recommended settings" is important.

hi Cyberek,
thanks for the quick answer. The point is, that beneath the "recommended settings" and the "pre-installation check"
are absolutely no results. There is no text. nothing.

i found in the template online documentaiton that i should use the php 5.4 version.
now i updated my strato server to php 5.5 - now when i call the site, it downloads my php file instead of opening
it in the browser :(

It looks like there is a problem with configuration of your hosting account. Perhaps you could ash your support for changing your account settings so it would be compatible with Joomla 3.x branch?

Ok, Its might not be a problem with your hosting. It might be a bug in our quickstart template.
Ill write back as soon as we will find the reason.

We have checked it carefully on few of our servers - and the installation works fine.
Could you please check if the package work fine on another server (if you have tested it locally, please check it on online server, or if you have checked online, please check locally).
Please also provide your server configuration (<?php phpinfo(); ?> would be the best).

Hi guys,
i am now having a very very strange problem!
I changed the php.ini for turning off errors and downloaded the ZIP file with the new html.view file like you mentioned here and
in the other forum.
Nothing helped!

Now i thought that it might be the template so i decided to choose an other template and took Simplicity.
I downloaded the quickinstall ZIP, extracted it and uploaded it to my server.

The strange thing:
though i have turned of the PHP error display, the summary shows that it still is activated !?
You can check my php.ini here: http://www.cyberholic.es/move/info.php

The servier is using MYSQL 5.5.31
and
PHP 5.5.7

So, it muts be a server configuration but the question is what could it be?
Thanks in advance for your support.

Sorry, but we don't provide server support. Please contact your hosting company support - they should provide you correct information.

Hi Cyberek,
i absolutely understand that. But look how strange this is:
1. i made a subfolder in my root and i installed your NEWS Template on my server. It works absolutely perfect and i love it !
I had to make not changes to any php.ini, htaccess etc. Everything worked perfect.

2. i made a new subfolder in my root and copied the social template to it. That's where the problems happen.

In other words: the NEWS template works perfect on my server. The social and simplicity template dont.

For me, that sounds strange and as the NEWS template works on my server the question is why other templates dont.
Nevermind, Thanks.

Every package database is a little bit different - in size and structure. With that amount of data sometimes there is a small configuration difference (even few bytes) which allows one package to install and another not. Many users had this kind of problems before - every time changing server setting, usually via cPanel, DirectAdmin or another software of kind helped. Sometimes changes have to be made in .htaccess - all depends on hosting company server settings - and they should provide you the way of changing those values (in most cases php.ini shouldn't even work).
