Font - letters with checkmarks showing differently

Hello,

I need help with the font. The letters with checkmarks are showing differently - bold (image in attachment).

I tried to fix it with this link in "Font" tab in template manager:
http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family= ... =latin-ext

but it's not working?

Also, I would like the font on the whole page to be in little darker shade of grey. Where can I set that?

This font is not compatible with your language custom signs. Please search for a font that has included national custom checkmarks on letters.
