I'm not sure what's happening here but I installed the demo package on my local server and I'm comparing and changing my live site. Here are a few issues:

As I have a static page for my front page I had created an Articles page for my posts which is the way as instructed by WordPress. However, when I now go to my articles there is nothing on it! Although in your demo you have a category menu item which shows the posts how did you create that menu!

I also set up the news gallery as per the demo but it's not showing anything.

I would really appreciate a quick look at my site i-toni.com as these support threads are building up

Hi,

Did you tried to use in the frontpage a page with template "Latest Posts" ?

Regarding the news gallery - do you mean the gallery page or the widget with links to the articles?

I've got the gallery working although it doesn't auto navigate. i found this on the demo install on my local server too. My front page is a static page hence has no posts

Ok, that's why you should use the "Latest Post" template for this page - then the latest posts should be displayed.

Regarding your problems:

1) I've not selected the post pages and now it is working fine.

2) Which gallery? Do you mean the gallery of news at the bottom? For me it is working correctly

3) I've just enabled the Disqus comments in the plugin and as you can see it is working fine: http://i-toni.com/web-hosting/lightning ... ng-review/

Fantastic and thank you. I'm not sure what you did but everything is fine. It's the GK News Gallery on the home page. Maybe as I'm new to Gavick it's a configuration I've missed. Does it work for only 1 category as I tried to ad a couple seperated by comma which doesn't work. Also the autoanimation doesn't work. I found that on my demo local server version as well.

Before installing the Gavick theme I was using Yoast SEO Does your SEO work the same way? Lastly does the theme have a built in cache?

BTW Thank you for your excellent support.

I've just noticed on my iPad that the side widgets show under each post and not down the side. Is there a setting to change this?

Are you sure that you are using proper category slugs? I'm asking, because for me it is working fine.

You're right - there was a small bug - please override files js/news_gallery.js and gavern/widgets.newsgallery.php from the attached package. This problem will be officially fixed in the nearest release.

The theme offers very basic SEO settings, I recommend to use 3rd party plugins if you need more than possibility to change the meta description and meta keywords.

Code: Select all

No, there is no built-in cache - please use the 3rd party plugins for it.

Could you send the screenshot of the problem and mark the problematic places?

The GK Gallery is showing a category. I simply tried adding multiple categories and believe it doesn't work that way. One slug works fine.

I added the files but found the file in wp-content/themes/Bluap/js/widgets but not in not js/news_gallery.js

Also added gavern/widgets.newsgallery.php Still not working.

I'll re-activate my WordPress SEO

As the templite is so light with very little plugins and I am on SSD hosting I don't need an aditional cache plugin! ;)

Screenshot as requested showing the sidebar widgets dropping under the posts in iPad

The Gallery is working fine now in Firefox, Explorer. Safari. It's only Chrome that it doesn't work in.

For me gallery is auto animate on Chrome too - but after clearing the browser cache ;)

Regarding the problem with widgets - it is a normal behaviour - on the tablet layout the widgets are placed under the posts. If you need you can change the tablet width to i.e. 1020px and then on the landscape view the sidebar will be still visible as a column on iPad.

Everything is now working great thanks to your amazing support! I adjusted the tablet size but strange enough I reverted back to the original setting. It actually looks better!

Although I had cleared my Chrome cache it took a number of times to show up

All posts are now solved. I will write a review on GavickPro giving my reasons why I would highly recommend you. I had been with another leading theme developer for a number of years but think it's time for a life time membership here. Simply great templates (nice and clean), fast loading and first class support

Regards
