I have tried the following

I have configured News show to get all joomla articles from a category.

To get specific articles by providing an article id...

nothing...
The strange thing is that the configuration screen shows me JSON underneath the options. See attached images...

This site is on a local windows 7_64 development machine with apache 2.4.2,PHP5.5.0 Mysql 5.5.27

I also tested image show GK4 which also seems to have an issue when selecting an image. => No pop-up window for selection. instead it opens in the same tab.

Any Ideas? This smells like bugs... or some incompatibility.

Other components installed:
Hikashop, Acymailing, Kunena Forum, JCK Editor, FaLang, Admin Tools, Akeeba Backup

First of all - your configuration panel surely don't look properly. Please try to reinstall module but before that make sure that Magic Quotes option is disabled in PHP - I suspect that is causing problem.

Hi I have already reinstalled said modules and even the template.
magic quotes are removed in PHP 5.4 (deprecated in 5.3) so this cannot be it.

This is strange. I'll investigate further.

Do you have some backend plugin or something like this ? It looks like something broke module scripts, styles etc. and usually it is caused by extensions like Advanced Module Manager and similar which works for backend only.

So, the first issue was resolved.
The problem was the following:
For this development I used easyPHP on Windows. EasyPHP has it's own 'modules' folder, so this was breaking everything that would access modules. An alias to the correct path, solved this.

The second problem with image show still exists. BTW, I don't have Advanced Module Manager or likes, installed.

But there seems to be another problem with News Show GK5 and Falang.
I enabled Falang today and immediately got a 1064 error. The error disappears, if I disable the News Show GK5 Module. The is surely some incompatibility between those two. I use Falang version 1.3.0.
Thanks

The problem can be related with language settings, if you show articles in NSP for English language and change your current lang - the NSP configuration is still the same and NSP is trying to show you articles for another language which cause restricted access error. You should duplicate NSP module depend on the language or set all article for both languages.

Hi, thanks for getting back. Language is already "all" in the module and the related category and article (only one is shown at this time). All Language related plugins are enabled. (languagefilter/code).
Languages are installed in site and also added in languages->content.
Translations work fine without the module being enabled

Please make sure that you've not selected some empty category.
