Hi Support,

I would like to use your built in Menu with a multilangual site, how do I connect your menu with the languages (more than one menumodule with language connected)?
Kind regards
Ronald

PS:
This is all done:
Note: Before you can see the language flags or language names in this module you have to configure a multi-language which requests that you perform several steps: install/add new languages, enable the Language Filter plugin, add multilingual content and create a menu for every installed language and leave one additional for both languages.

Hi

Here You will find a guide: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... joomla-1-7

Also I recommend to look into Falang component. I found that an easiest way for multi language.

Hi teitbite,

thanks for your help and hint. Before I followed the standard joomla multilangual setup guide, now I read your link to your setup recommondation carefully again et voila: The very important part is:
"5 Create menu items for languages.
‘Menu for English Language’ and ‘Menu for Italian Language’ menus, should have only for one menu item (the Home one) then the items visible in particular language will be created in ‘Main Menu’. If you create a new item in this menu and select language to English, the item will be visible only after a user chooses English Language, similarly; when you create a menu item and set language to Italian the menu will be visible only after the Italian language was selected. The menu in templates based on Gavern framework will load proper items automatically, a user doesn’t need to set any additional parameters etc., the menu in top depends on currently active language"

Now it works fine!
Best regards
Ronald

PS: I know falang but I would like to have it the old school classic way :-)

Hi

There are other ways as well. For example You can make a separate menu for each language than create separate template style for each language and in this styles attach a different menu and a language it should be used for.
