Buttons... Creativity J3.1

On a positive note have sorted the text changes on the main slideshow intro.

However I have a problem with Buttons which seems in part covered in various other posts. I am working to complete a 'simple' site by modifying the quickstart install. Running J3.1.5.

1. What we do... 'More Work' = fine
2. Contact..... 'Send Message' only appears to open the main site index page. When I roll over the button then this is the url displayed.
3. About..... 'learn more' - as per 2 above but with '#' appended.
4. Let's work together...... 'Get in touch' - as per 3 above.

This is potentially a lovely site, but am really struggling to nail it down and would appreciate any help/detailed step by step instruction for one of limited 'brainpower' (ie me!).

My apologies if this has been answered - I can find numerous references to parts, but none with an apparent solution I can make work.
