Hi, I am trying to add a search module within one of the slides. I have set the slide content type to 'article' and loaded a module into an article. When I view the slide on the frontend I get: ONLY THE TEXT SLIDE TYPES ARE ALLOWED!
How can I achieve this, is it possible.

It was not designed this way. I advice to use GK Tabs module instead. You will be able to add a module there.
