When I install the zip file gk_creativity_J!3.zip on the administrator side of my site under Extensions Manager I get the following error:

An error has occurred.
0 DateTime::__construct() [datetime.--construct]: Failed to parse time string (jerror) at position 0 (j): The timezone could not be found in the database

I contacted my host to fix the database issue and they said it is an error with the template and to contact Gavick.

I appreciate any insight on this issue. Thank you!

Hi,
I contacted my host to fix the database issue and they said it is an error with the template and to contact Gavick.

They "host support" always talk like that.. ... bounce the ball .

Few seconds ago I have download and install without any problems.
Please download any other template for J3.x and try again, wonder if there would be the same error.

As I said before it's not fault of template because... so many people have it check in google.

How to fix it:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=707&t=790865
or
http://forum.joomla.org/results.php?cx= ... uct%28%29+[datetime.--construct]%3A+Failed+to+parse+time+string+%28jerror%29&siteurl=forum.joomla.org%2F&ref=www.joomla.org%2F&ss=2130j879508j10

and do it also:
A database repair ( Extension --> Extension Manager --> left Database --> Fix)

p.s.
You have very lazy host support (!), they didn't spend any second to find this solution. This is a Joomla 3.x issue not related to any extension or template.

I installed Creative first, no issues. Tried installing Creativity as well (changed my mind on which template to use) and that error pops up. So it doesn't happen for all templates, it seems.

If it matters any, the Creative was a quickstart package and the Creativity was just the template zip.

I will let the host know to fix the php.ini like you posted as I seem to not have access to it. Also doing the database repair. I will report back.

Thank you for the quick response!!! :)

If this error appear again, add new post, I will ask our developer how it can be fixed.
In mean time, use other template if you don't have enough patience/time.

In joomla 1.5 times webmaster life was so easy, all templates could be installed manually via FTP.
