Hi Gavick Pro.

I are making a site at http://gertsterner.com
I can give you access, if you give me an email to write to.

I use Falang 1.3.0 to do the language translation from English to Danish.
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... tent/18210

To change the text on the Frontpage part of the theme, I have to translate the modules that belong to it. And the module "About.." do not render correct and do not make any animation after the translation.

I have tried to copy the exact text (no editor) into the "Title" field but it still don't work.

Do I have to delete the site and start over with a Joomla 2.5 version do you think?

Kind regards
Gert

I think I know the problem now. I just don't know how to correct it.

It is in the "Title" field. I changed the text in the English language and suddenly it is bad too. I think I deleted one char, that I thought was a space. I tried to put it back, but now it is recked.

So I need a place where for char format for the "Title" field is explained. Do you know where that is?

Kind regards

Well...it was not it.

I found the original text in joomla.sql

it is:
About __Meet our talented team. We craft functional, modern websites for you.__

But, pasting that into the "Title" field didn't bring it back to normal, so it might be that Joomla 3.1 is just not the right one to use?

Kind regards

Strange... also a problem with Joomla 2.5.

I just made a complete installation of the Quick Install Pack with Joomla 2.5 and Falang Language Switcher on another domain http://ideplaneten.dk. The domain is hosted with the same host as gertsterner.com

It all worked fine until I change the "Title" field text. I made shure to copy it before I changed it, but pasting the original text in, did not help.

So the error / feature is the same with Joomla 2.5 as with 3.1.

Do you have any idea how to fix this?

Drop Falang?

Drop multilanguage in all?

Kind regards

Just deleted the extra language again in the uppersite way I installed it on http://ideplaneten.dk - the Joomla 2.5 site.

That did not help.

Hi

For start I do not know what is shown on Your site. Problem was a wrong html in this place, but even if I change it than the old code is being shown always. Do You have a cache option activated on server ? Can You please ask Your host provider to disable it ? It's either server cache or I'm looking in the wrong admin panel ;/

Try adding content with no editor so it doesn't strip out any part of the html. Change editor to no editor in global configurations then change it back once you finish editing the module.

If you need the html for the module see my reply in below topic.

Hi

Joomla cache is off, as you can see here:
http://gertsterner.com/files/gertsterne ... is_off.png

And the module "About" is not horizontal, and the text is not formatted correct, as you can see here. It is now wrong in both English and Danish language.
http://gertsterner.com/files/gertsterne ... zontal.png

I contacted my host, one.com, and they told me, that they indeed had a cache. And that I could turn if off in my .htaccess by inserting the line:
Header add "disablevcache" "true"

So I have done that now. It did not help though...

Kind regards

I have now :-)

And it worked. So thanks a lot. :-)

But I still don't get it, that the module change the Custom Output when I only change the Title field?

I have been using JCE editor for a lot of years, so it is funny, that it do not work here.

But nice that you found out what was making the trouble :-) And nice that I can keep Joomla 3.1 now that I am getting used to it.

Have a nice day!

Hi again.

Now I made a Danish language version of the module "What we do __We.." and got an Error 1064 when I change to the Danish site. So there is no Danish site no more.

I did not use an editor when I did the edit.

Do you have an idea what went wrong this time?

Is it about time I realize, that I should not run the site as a multi language site? ;-)

Kind regards

Hehe. That's exactly what I was going to do, but server cache did not allowed that ;/ I'm glad You have brought that up, so @GertSterner could fix it.

About Error 1064 it's a wrong SQL syntax. I think it could be a bug of Falang. Please try not to use falang while translating modules, just create 2 modules and set them for English and Danish language. This will work for sure.

Thanks a lot to both of you. Now the Danish language works again.

I will remember to use one module per language.

I guess you could do without Falang, Joomfish or other language switchers, but you would have to make a module that would change the language for the user.

I will now go along with more modules so I can have the frame ready for som content in K2.

Thanks again!

Hi

When I'm asked to make a multilanguage website I always use falang. This is an amazing plugin to translate menus and articles. But modules are much easier to handle when there are copies for each language and not just translations. Anyway most of the modules doesn't have suupport for Falang, so it's better to exclude them all from it :)

Things are working now at http://gertsterner.com

But now I got to the point of translating from English to Danish. In Falang backend, I don't seem to be able to translate the K2 article's. Is it just me, that have overlooked something?

Kind regards

Hi

You need to download an additional free plugin which will extend Falang to support K2 translations: http://www.faboba.com/en/composants/fal ... egory_id=1
