"What we do" section on header

I wanted to ask how to disable the link from the slides/photos.
( to leave the overlay with the hover effect without linking it to an k2 article..)

I'm afraid this style is based on a link since all elements are kept between <a></a> tags. I think the best option would be to use a different module. Image Show GK4 has a similar style to it.

Can you advice on setting that would look the same as "What we do" with the overlay?

Sorry. If it's about an overlay than I would require a customization to Image Show module and we do not support customizations. But if You are interested You can mail me in private and we can discuss hiring me to make it like that.
