Active links color

I have put links in an html module but the active links do not show change in color. The links in article show change in color. How can I achieve this? Thanks in advance.

Instead of custom html module try making a menu module and link to your items, active class added when joomla compares item id and if there is a menu id match. In normal html there is no processor or controller to match the current item to apply active class to that link which is why you don't see any color changes.
