I am trying to show a module only in articles and not on the front page. However, when I deselect Home on the module config the module does not show in articles. The strange thing is this is possible with a k2 module!

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
I am trying to show a module only in articles and not on the front page.

Are mind inside article ? Sorry but I don't understand idea.
Standard modules from Joomla should work in similar way like from modules from K2, so I'm wondering it's question for us or producer of Joomla. I don't see connection with our templates right now.

ok, are you talking about module "Mind the Brass workshop" (you forgot to add background under text) ?

Problem may be connected with how Joomla interprets items (articles) not allocated to the menu.

Two solutions:
1) Use powerful AdvancedModuleManager from NoNumber.nl (Peter van Westen)
2) Create a hidden menu add to them new position "Articles » Category List" from category which you are displaying on front-page. Then in Module configuration setting set to show on this menu item. This should help.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am talking of a module I would like to publish on the right side (sidebar position) under the facebook one. Now, when I configure the module not to show on the home page then it does not show on other pages. But when I tick to show on the home page then it shows on all pages. That is not what I want.

The problem with Peter van Westen modules now require a higher PHP version to be installed. The strange thing is that a k2 module works well.

I've used "All except selected " module feature.
Now should works fine.

P.s.
I give you advice delete modules which you're not using , because in Module Manager you have mess from Demo quickstart installation
