Hello!

I discovered an issue with this particular module when I installed the Rockwall theme. If you select individual k2 items it works as it should. Although, if you select k2 categories and set the "First News Number" to something other than "0" it displays more than one article. I assume that this is a bug, as it should still only display one article. Maybe there should be an option in the module to allow for the number of articles to be displayed if it is in the "tile overlay" mode. Again, the only options that I changed was that I set the data source to k2 categories and set the "first news number" to something other than "0".

Thanks!

First news number option NOT mean the amount of articles, for this you can find another field. First news number means some offset in displaying articles from selected source.

Hello,

Yes I understand that. What I am getting at is that if you put in the number of offset, something other than "0", it will display more than one article, instead of displaying one article with the display offset set to 0.

To show just one article please choose in module configuration one row, and row column and 0 pagination pages and leave the offset value set to '0'

Hello,

That option appears in the "Standard" mode of the module. If I switch it to the "Title Overlay" mode, I don't have any control over that. Those particular options are not available. The issue occurs when I have the module in "Title Overlay" mode.

Thanks,

Tim

Ok, let me test the category solution first. I test it locally on my network, if I have to, I will upload it to my host and test it there. Thanks for your help and time.

But do they admit that this is a bug? :-S

Without this function the news show pro doesn't support an automatic news flow. Hopefully they can look into this matter.

Don't know if they actually do or not.

This option not set amount of articles by order, if you choose one the order of articles is shift by one. Amount of articles you can specify in another field.

We understand how the offset works. What we are saying is that when you (WE) set the offset option to something other than 0 it (the module) displays more than one article, when it should only display a single offset article. Its a bug, a bug I've duplicated on two separate systems. We don't have the option of setting the amount of articles in another field. That option is not available, at least for the title overlay mode. The article layout slide disappears for us when we set it to title overlay mode. When you set the module mode to normal it allows us to set the article layout parameters.

The offset means the offset no article limit, if you want to show one article please just set amout of articles to 1.
“First news number” option allows to specify from which article in a given articles collection data will be presented. It is useful when we have more than one module operating on the same articles collection but we want to divide this collection in two between two modules – then, the first module displays articles from the first one to X number and the second displays articles from X number to the end.

That means that if you select 1 in the first news number field, module will show articles from the second one to the last.

I seriously don't think we are talking about the same problem here, nor the same solution. We understand how the module is supposed to work. I guess I will post screenshots and illustrations. Oy.... Not trying to be impatient here, but we are actually trying to fix this bug. I'd like to use this theme for the band that I am in, but without being able to use the modules that are provided in the manner they were supposed to be used, its a pointless theme, especially if you use K2 for your news and if you use the module in title overlay mode. UNLESS this bug gets fixed. Now if you post individual articles in each module, it works, but what is the point to that. The one thing I don't think I mentioned is that we are using the K2 source set to categories. If you use that option in your data source, it breaks the module. I refuse to update each module individually to reflect the news changes. That would be pointless and VERY inefficient.

I will be posting images shortly....

If you guys want to display only 1 article, just set Row = 1 and Column = 1 in Article Layout section, and ignore "First News Number" field, leave it with the default value (0) then you will have no issues with the module.
