Template cart not showing products

Hello,

I have a problem with the template when i add a product to cart it is not shown in the template pop up cart, it shows "empty cart" , but if i go to the virtuemart cart they are there, sometimes the "add to cart" button in the product page stops working too, but if i activate the "use fancybox" option in virtuemart settings it work (but the pop up is not shown according to the template) so i think this is not a virtuemart related problem, what can be wrong?

Could you please provide versions of template and vm (template version can be found in templateDetails.xml file inside a template folder in between <version> tags).

Template version is 3.18
